I Used AI to Turn My Videos Into Animation
This AI tool isn't perfect but has some features that I love.
Imagine taking your everyday videos into an anime or 3D cartoon with a few clicks.
You can do this with DomoAI and you can try it for free! But this isn’t only about video transformation. Have you ever seen those images generated by Midjourney? With this AI you can create something similar to Midjourney and turn animated characters into lifelike figures.
You only need to follow a few steps. Let's start!
Head over to Discord and join the DomoAI community. Once you’re in, add the DomoAI following the steps below.
Why do this? Well, it’s all about convenience. Having DomoAI on your server streamlines your experience, allowing you to see your creations come to life quickly and directly, without the clutter of everyone else’s projects.
Now let’s explore some of DomoAI’s features.
Feature #1: Animate your video
DomoAI’s most exciting feature lets you turn videos into cartoon or anime styles. It’s simple: type ‘/video’ in the command, upload your video, and add a descriptive prompt.
For example, I uploaded a video of myself skiing, entered ‘girl skiing’ as the prompt, and then selected how long the video should be and the intensity level. This transformed my skiing footage into a fun, animated video (watch video here)
The outcome is quite impressive, but there’s room for improvement. Try with your own videos and let me know if you liked the results.
Feature #2: Turn anime to real people
Anime fans, filmmakers, or those who enjoy bringing fairy-tale characters to life will love this feature.
DomoAI offers a feature that transforms fairy-tale or fictional characters into realistic figures. To use it, simply type ‘/real’, upload a photo of your character, and then type your prompt.
For example, I took an anime image I generated with Midjourney and used it in DomoAI, adding the prompt ‘girl in a red dress’.
I’m amazed at the result! This feature of turning animated characters into realistic ones is incredibly useful. It opens up a new realm of possibilities for character design and storytelling.
Feature #3: Creating images
DomoAI brings a feature that’s quite similar to what you might know from Midjourney, allowing you to transform text into images. Just like Midjourney, when you use this feature in DomoAI, it generates four different images based on your input text, giving you a variety to choose from.
Just type ‘/gen’ in the command line within your DomoAI-enabled channel. Once you hit enter, you can start typing in your creative prompts.
Prompt: A lake in the mountains
The ‘model’ feature in DomoAI lets you choose different styles for your image generation. You just add a style choice to your text prompt. For example, if you select a ‘fantasy’ style for a lake image, DomoAI will create images with a fantasy theme.
For instance, in one of my tests, I selected a ‘release’ style while using a prompt related to a lake.
‘img2img’ is about transforming an existing image. You provide an image and a description, and DomoAI modifies the image to match your description. It’s a great way to creatively alter photos or illustrations.
My prompt is the same but I have added the image of which style I want DomoAI to follow. Here is the result.
Feature #4: Animate images
DomoAI also offers a unique feature that transforms your images into animations. Think of it more like creating a GIF rather than a full video. The process is straightforward and similar to the one I mentioned earlier. You start by typing ‘/animate’, then upload the image you want to animate, and set the generation intensity.
For instance, I tried it with a photo of my cat playing with a ball. The result was a lively, animated gif that brought the playful moment to life in a whole new way (check the animation here)
To be honest, I wasn’t wowed by the results. I had different expectations, like seeing the cat actively playing with a ball. Instead, the animation mainly showed some erratic changes in light and fur texture. It seems like DomoAI still has some way to go in accurately interpreting and animating certain types of movements and details.
